Artistic Statement
Being a director is being in the position of creating time and space individual from the one we are living in. I believe in utilizing that power to connect and to inspire. We are all heroes on our own journey until we break the boundaries of social constructs such as race, class and gender. Only then could we hear each other’s stories and deepen the understanding of humanity. Theatre is a place to challenge the norms and to make miracles. Thus to nurture understanding, justice and equality.
Teaching artist
Working with children and bringing the youths into theatre is a great passion of mine. I’d like to offer a chance for them to create a space for themselves to just be. It has been a way for me and so many others to keep connected to our imagination and intuition, all children should have access to be a part of theatre making. Over the years, I have worked with non-profit organizations and theatres in China, London and New York on children and youth programs to develop and execute a devising curriculum.
